I have a couple of items from KalKal and now this turkey vest. Everything I Have from them is very high quality, this vest included. It is well made, durable looking, has plenty of pockets for calls and shells, has a nice foam seat attached so I can easily walk and squawk, which is one of my favorite ways to spring hunt. The pad is detachable so I can sit on it or kneel on it. Teh vest is easily adjustable and I had no problem finding a good fit. Not sure I love the bladder placement and hose routing but will probably get used to it and honestly am just happy it is part of the system. In terms of value, it seems fairly priced for the quality, but there are several in this price range that look roughly the same for roughly the same price, so it may not hurt to shop it a bit. That said, I do find Kalkal products to be generally pretty good, so if it were me I would just order this one.
This is a really nice quality camo hunting vest. It is a really nice thick durable fabric. The vest/backpack type design has padded shoulder straps, making it really comfortable to wear. I also like all the different pockets/pouches with varying size compartments. This also comes with a detachable padded seat.
I have been very impressed with this turkey vest. It is lightweight but still feels tough enough to handle a full day in the woods. The camo pattern looks great and blends in well during spring season.
The built in seat is a big plus. It is easy to flip down and makes sitting for long periods much more comfortable. The vest has plenty of pockets and they are actually useful, not just for looks. I was able to organize calls, gloves, phone, snacks, and other gear without feeling overloaded. I also like that it is compatible with a 3L water bladder, which makes it practical for longer hunts.
The fit is comfortable and adjustable, so it works well over layers. Overall, this vest is thoughtfully designed and makes carrying gear much easier. I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to other hunters looking for a reliable turkey vest.
This vest sits right in the sweet spot. The camo pattern is great amd the fit is even better. The length straps allow both the skinny and hibernation prepared hunters to adjust it to fit whatever body shape they need. I found the shell pockets large enough, yet still easy to get my hand into and when sitting on the ground up against a tree. I found the removable seat pad to be comfortable for long sits. It¡¯s not too soft that you feel the hard ground underneath and it¡¯s not too hard that you feel your butt wants to roll off when adjusting. I would compare the seat to more of the feel of a throwable boat cushion. Just right. It¡¯s nice that the seat pad has a magnetic section that allowed the pad to snap onto the backpack. It prevents the pad from bouncing off the back of your legs when hiking. Lots of extra storage in the back along with the orange flag for safety.
This pack is perfect for my style of hunting. I¡¯m sure it would fit into your style as well.
A well thought out hunting vest. The stitching of the vest looks to be secure and sturdy. Highly adjustable and should fit a variety of body builds. and loaded with pockets.
Complete with a seat that attaches to the vest it will keep you off the ground and provide some comfort. When not being used, the seat can be stored in the pack. There is a pocket for everything from your shells, scratch call, box call and more. It has molle webbing to allow you to attach the things you don’t carry every day. A built-in orange safety flag is also built in. Inside the pack is a sleeve for you hydration bladder. The only concern I may have is how the zippers will function over time.
With Spring turkey season right around the corner, it will be put to use.
